It’s traditional in Boy Scouts that the Troop meeting be closed by the Scoutmaster with a Scoutmaster’s minute. This is something our Scoutmaster used to do all the time (he told me so) but as the years went on it seems to have fallen out of practice. Last night we brought the tradition back. Before the Scouts retired the colors I brought then in for a huddle and told them I had something I wanted to share with them. I did the “Make a Difference to One” Scoutmaster’s minute.
The boys were attentive and it went over very well. I told then it was something I wanted to bring back as a regular part of our meetings and they were very receptive to it. The best compliment was when when of the Scouts said “That was nice. It’s like religion – only cooler.”
Thanks boys.
