100 Days of Scouting: Day 6

13 Feb

Only one thing for Scouting today and that was to inventory the Cub awards (belt loops, pins and Webelos activity badges) that made their way to my basement last Blue & Gold and never came back again. I shared the list with the Cubmaster and Awards Chair. They’ll be shopping for Blue & Gold awards and we wanted to go through any surplus before buying.

Today wasn’t much of a Scouting day but that’s ok. Most of the day was spent with my son at one of his favorite entertainment places. It’s important to make time for non-Scout together time too, which being his father and Scoutmaster sometimes seems a challenge.

It is hard to take off one hat and put the other one on when you are both Father and Scoutmaster. As Cubmaster, it’s sometimes hard as well. However, while on vacation my son said” Dad, it’s VACATION…not SCOUTING….we are not doing anything Cubscouts!” Just gotta be Dad. That’s what the plaid shorts and white socks are for!
